Application Design Engineer II: Responsible for handling the overall technical responsibilities of one or more engineering projects, including project specification, design, functionality and testing.

Provide technical design, knowledge and know how for customers in a specific application domain. Applies standards, procedures and best practices in autonomy. May report on potential commercial risk or opportunities and /or on customer technical needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Reviews and prepares project specifications to ensure the safety system meets the technical requirements of the project. Ensures customer's budgetary and scheduling requirements are met, as outlined by the Project Manager.

Provides engineer safety solutions on projects based on project specifications. Ensures the safety system design meets the project specification. Oversees the hardware selection/specification and development of the safety system software.

Responsible for the development and programming of the safety system logic and the functionality of the safety system. Uses logic drawings, control narratives and the basis of design documents to contribute to logic development.

Performs system testing and factory acceptance testing. Supports the factory acceptance test and develops a test document for selected projects as required.


NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Interfaces with customers on technical and contractual details. Provides customer support on assigned projects and future project needs.

May perform other related duties as required.


Qualifications
This job might be for you if:

  • Education and/or experience equivalent to a B.S. in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science is required.
  • At least 4 to 6 years of related experience and knowledge of industrial/process controls, including emergency shutdown and/or turbomachinery systems, is recommended.
  • HMI software, DCS system and field instrumentation knowledge is preferred.
