About the Job

Job Purpose

  • Advance the technical and professional reputation of the Schneider Academy to position Schneider Electric as the preferred company for all customer education requirements in Anglophone Africa.
  • Management of all Schneider Academy projects and offers aligned to business unit growth plans.
  • Setup, design and implementation of Schneider Academy offer considering current and future business needs as per strategic direction of the business. Promote profitable growth and implementation of EcoStruxure Certifications as well as the introduction and management of digital education offers in the Academy.
  • Create a strong relationship and collaboration between the Schneider Academy and business unit leaders, product managers and commercial teams to promote sales in the Schneider Academy as well as promoting the latest Schneider Electric products and solutions to customers via training.
Principal Accountabilities
Offer Management:
  • Grow the Schneider Electric Academy though continuous marketing and promotional activity, course development and delivery.
  • Develop, maintain and communicate the technical training offer matrix & roadmap for the Schneider Academy which will serve as the main offer and basis for all "transactions" within the Schneider Academy
  • Responsibility for training content, timelines and costs to support =S= products/solutions and customer requirements, including the update/improvement of existing offer, integration of new material and customized training programs.
  • Ensure that he Schneider Academy offer matrix is representative of all business units training requirements to serve customer education requirements.
  • Implement global Schneider Electric Certifications and introduce localised certifications as and when applicable.
  • Preparation of Training Catalogue indicating Academy Offer to create awareness to customers and promote sales via the commercial teams.
  • Ensure that the Schneider Academy offer matrix includes trainers from across the business to ensure that all courses strive to secure three (3) possible trainers per course to ensure delivery to customers at all times.
  • Liaise with the Skills Development department for internal trainer development requirements as part of the Schneider Academy offer trainer succession pipeline.
  • Engage with the Schneider Electric sales force and product marketing managers to promote technical training and to stay abreast of product developments and technical training requirements at all times.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product specialists to develop and implement marketing, promotional and sales activities and collateral for the Schneider Academy as sales will take place via BU commercial teams.
  • Register training courses with the South African Institute for Electrical Engineering for Continuous Professional Development requirements and accreditation as and when possible.
  • Take responsibility for standardisation of all training materials with regards to templates used, layout and quality with backup trainers for all courses.
  • To conduct a Quarterly review of courses and course content with subject matter experts (PAE, PM, SA, FSE).
  • Conducting market research and competitor comparison to prepare and position the pricing of the Schneider Academy offer as competitive in the market, as well as profitable to Schneider Electric.
  • Advise on Customer discount for training to ensure profitability of training at all times.
  • Serve as the main contact with business units for all Schneider Academy equipment requirements for training execution.
  • Liaison with the global offer managers and contacts with regards to training to ensure a comprehensive offer in Anglophone Africa.
Project Management:
  • Create collaborative and strategic relationships with suitable industry associations and partners to promote the Schneider Academy as a preferred education partner in the field of energy.
  • Define and manage a Schneider Academy commercial policy for pricing, discounts, internal back charges etc in alignment with internal BU customer programmes such as Alliance partners and EcoXperts etc.
  • Setup Best Practice Days as a form of Marketing and Income generation to create awareness of the Schneider Academy.
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance of training equipment and facilities, including capex applications for new equipment as well as setup of an assets register.
  • Setup and implement Schneider Academy Training Delivery & Service Level agreements as and when required.
  • Setup and implement Schneider Academy Policies & Procedures with support from the Schneider Academy coordinator, as and when required.
  • Analyse course participation and implement marketing initiatives to improve attendance or remove/replace courses as and when required.
  • Promote that all training courses are full to maximum capacity at all times to achieve maximum facility utilisation.
  • Assisting with finding trainers and equipment for on-site training requests, in order to provide a timely service and to win the business.
  • Promoting scheduled, non-scheduled as well as onsite customer training to ensure that customer needs are met at all times.
  • Assist with all non-standard customer training requests to respond with suitable proposal and costing to meet customer needs. First point of contact for all training proposals to be prepared for customers.
  • Offer a customer training service to all countries in Anglophone Africa, liaising with =S= counterparts within Anglophone Africa to promote the Schneider Academy to their customers.
EcoStruxure:
  • Mange the Schneider Academy offer in such a manner that EcoStruxure certifications can be introduced immediately to promote specific customer skills development.
  • Collaboration with all EcoStruxure experts to prepare training courses and curriculums to suit certification requirements.
Digital Education:
  • Identify and introduce digital education in Anglophone Africa to promote the number of customers trained by Schneider Electric using all digital platforms available including telepresence room and demo room.
  • Identify suitable digital learning paths and offers to meet customer requirements where face to face training is not suitable for customers
  • Develop digital education offers as per customer and business unit needs to expand the offer and upload local content as and when required.
Business of Education & University Relations:
  • Serve as a key contact for all university relations and business of education enquiries as and when required
  • Support the Sustainable Development coordinator with access to education queries as well as Teachers missions
  • Promote the sales of =S equipment for education purposes and liaise with local providers to promote the use of =S= components in educational benches.
Marketing & Operations:
  • Preparation of marketing materials to promote to BU commercial teams to share with customers to promote cross-selling and maximise on facility utilisation for all customer training
  • Support the Schneider Academy coordinator with the preparation of a monthly dashboard to track performance and drive targets within the Academy
Customer Satisfaction
  • Review comments in customer satisfaction surveys to gain insight on customer training requirements
  • Influence the customer nett promoter score by ensuring the Schneider Academy offer is relevant and informative for customers to grow their skills and knowledge.
Other:
  • Additional requirements to be discussed with the incumbent as the role of the Schneider Academy Project and Offer Manager progresses.


Qualifications
Education
  • Relevant Qualification in electrical engineering at NQF level 5/6.
  • Relevant Qualification in Training & Development at NQF level 4/5
  • Minimum of 8 -10 years' experience in the field of Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years in managing or delivering training solutions to internal and external customers.
