About the Job


This position is responsible for Business Development of specific Activity or Category (Software which includes DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) and EcoStruxure (Schneider Electric IoT platform).

Key part of the role will be to also explore and define various Routes to Market / Go To Market. This could involve the following:

a) Look at various Routes: Schneider Electric own sales teams as well as specialised and general partners
b) Organize, train & support local (country level) team members for approach local implementation achievement.
c) New channel and marketing program development


1. Business Development

- Understanding the Opportunity, Segmenting and Targeting
- Identifications of new market segments, partners or business opportunity
- Identifying trends to develop, deploy and sustain Programs for growth. This could be for specific end user group, Segment, specific products or any other area. The key focus is to bring new avenues of sustainable growth

· Market research and analysis - Using available research as available and at the same time being able to conduct primary research directly with the Customers, Consultants and partners via "Voice of Customer" sessions
- Understanding of customers needs by working with internal teams and gathering of information from external sources including directly working customers and partners
- Developing the marketing mix (4P: Price, Place, Product and Promotion) with relevant teams so as to achieve the marketing objectives of the identified product portfolio
- Developing and executing business plans for the allocated activity, market segment, products or partners
- Driving the business plans with the regional segment, Enterprise, channel sales and marketing teams
- Diligently tracking results and progress of business plans
- Providing advice to local teams on the GTM strategies and new business development

2. Product & Program Management
- Working with Line of Business and Regional Product Managers
- Managing product life-cycle from the introduction of the products into the market, local positioning, competitiveness, and evolution to future generations
- Drive launch of software product
- Participate in and provide inputs for product development to meet the country needs
- Provides necessary training and guidance to local team as well as partners
- Manages and provides necessary sales tools to partners
- Develop local programs to meet quarterly and annual business objectives
- Working with product team, service team and marketing team to execute the programs

3. Business Reporting
- Working with Regional Business Development teams for timely submission of business development activities and progress report

4. Close working with Product Marketing /Marketing Communication teams
- Working with local marketing teams to drive marketing plans
- Understanding of the competitive landscape and develop local strategies to beat competition
- Supports marketing activities to drive key campaigns and product messaging to the identified market segment

5. Sales & Marketing Support and Execution
- Support local sales and marketing events and activities
- Speaking at events - industry, customers and channel facing


- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (Engineering or Science an advantage)
- M Tech / MBA (Marketing) preferred
- Data Center Certifications are a plus

- At least 8 - 10 years working experience in the IT /Data Center / Industrial Infrastructure industry, preferably related to Business Development
- International experience / Experience in a regional role is preferred
- Should be able to show cases of having developed new Businesses developed individually (preferred) or with primary responsibility to size of around 100k to 1 Mn US$ from scratch where the person was the Primary driver

- Experience with any of the following software would be a advantage : NEC Netcracker, Hitachi JP1, Fujitsu Systemwalker, Optimum Path DCIM, HP software, IBM Tivoli, Vertiv, Nlyte, Sunbird, BMC, CA.
