Schneider Electric is seeking a strategic, creative and organized Media Relations Manager to work closely with the Marketing Segment and Program Managers to drive media relations programs in support of various business units. S/he will drive Schneider Electric's coverage in tier 1 trade and business publications and ensure consistent message penetration throughout the development and deployment of all external communication assets.

The Media Relations Manager is responsible for planning, executing and managing the tactical components of an integrated, cross business unit PR program. This includes ownership of journalist relationships, storytelling opportunities and coverage analysis. Additionally, this individual maintains a current understanding of media relations trends and best practices and applies them to the execution of our media relations campaigns.

What do you get to do in this position?

  • Develop and execute on media relations plans
  • Develop pitches and thought leadership content for BU subject matter experts
  • Develop p ress releases and drive approval process
  • Lead media relations status meetings with internal staff and PR agency
  • Provide updates and coordinate/leverage thought leadership content, news, pitches across US, Canada and Mexico
  • Develop and execute on plans to support media relations activities at trade shows and conferences; provide on-site support and post event reporting
  • Define award opportunities and work with PR agency to develop submissions
  • Ensure the development of a consistent stream of proactive pitches to drive trend articles in tier 1 publications
  • Ensure social media is being leveraged to amplify news, coverage and events


Qualifications
This job might be for you:
  • Bachelor's Degree Marketing, Communications or related degree is required
  • 4-6 years in media relations
  • Experience in managing media relations across multiple business units
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Passion for influencing the media to set the agenda in key markets
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a deadline driven environment
  • High levels of integrity, autonomy and self-motivation
This position will report to the NAM Public Relations leader. The position will be based in Boston, MA or West Kingston, RI.

  • Experience in executing campaigns and utilizing multiple social

  • Ability to work within a complex matrix business environment, utilize exceptional project management skills to consistently deliver projects on-time and within budget

  • Passion for learning and solving problems through data analysis
  • Problem solving mindset
  • Copywriting experience (portfolio preferred)
  • Experience with Marketo or equivalent platform desired
  • Experience with Sprinklr is a plus
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
