Summary/Objective:

The NFL Media Group is seeking a Media Strategy & Business Development Director who will be responsible for pursuing and managing key partnerships, content and distribution opportunities and supporting the development of the NFL's media strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to be in a leadership role at the NFL across a broad range of traditional and digital media channels. This role

requires a strong leader who can combine a solid understanding of the overall media and digital media space with a comprehensive foundation in business analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop and execute business strategies for key media business areas

  • Proactively identify new market initiatives by assessing new markets and analyzing business opportunities

  • Conduct financial analyses and develop proposals for new business opportunities

  • Take a meaningful role in all aspects of the deal development and prospecting, sourcing, negotiating and closing, including proactively identifying potential business partners and negotiating agreements

  • Manage and grow existing partnerships

  • Create and participate in strategic presentations to senior executives inside and outside the organization

  • Effectively manage others across the organization to meet deadlines and deliverables

  • Drive aspects of deal development, including prospecting potential partners, designing deal structures/rights packages, negotiating and closing agreements

    Qualifications


    Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in business development at a leading media company, consulting, private equity/venture capital, investment banking (preferably in TMT groups) OR an equivalent combination of education and experience tenure

  • Specific experience within the direct-to-consumer, subscription products, sports betting, and/or audio sectors strongly preferred

  • Minimum of five (5) years of management experience

  • Successfully demonstrated knowledge of media trends (traditional and digital), evolution of platforms/consumption, and business dynamics/models of media properties

  • Extensive financial analysis and modeling experience

  • Effective negotiator with a strong command of contracts and experience working with legal professionals

  • Experience in developing and implementing long-term business plans and strategies

  • Capable and persuasive communicator / negotiator who can make arguments clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing

  • Strong interpersonal skills able to build and foster broad network of relationships

    Other Key Attributes / Characteristics:

  • Demonstrated fan of spectator sports in order to relate to the user experience of sports fans and visitors to NFL Media properties

  • Proven ability to think strategically and analytically

  • Have a strong understanding of media trends (traditional and digital), emerging platforms and consumption habits

  • Understand the business dynamics/models of media properties, with a specific focus on the direct-to-consumer, subscription products, sports betting, and / or audio sectors

  • Effective presentation creation abilities

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects

  • A team player who is capable of interacting and at all levels of the organization including cross-functionally

  • Work along-side, manage, and help develop a group of junior professionals across a variety of projects

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Persuasive with strong presentation skills.
