1. Place orders for laboratory as needed and maintain laboratory supply inventory.
2. May perform duties associated with receipt, coordination, shipment and transport of patient and donor blood products.
3. Operate, maintain and may perform quality control checks on laboratory equipment.
4. May perform patient/donor product inventory management.
5. May perform labeling and verification of blood products.
Scope: Perform routine tasks in accordance with established standard operating procedures under close supervision.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree (AS) or higher preferred.
Experience: Up to 1 year of laboratory experience. GMP documentation experience a plus.
Management Experience: N/A
Skills/Abilities: Computer experience and familiarity with office automation (e.g. MS Word) desired. Ability to sterile gown and qualify for cleanroom entry.
* Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
The duties are representative of the essential functions of the position. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Available to work overtime, other shifts, early mornings, evenings, holidays and weekends. Requires standing, stretching, stooping and bending for extended time periods. Lift, pull, push and move objects of up to 50 pounds. May work in walk-in refrigerator/freezers for periods of time. Work under pressure and within time standards. Required to wear protective clothing such as lab coats, gloves, face shields, etc. when there is exposure to blood and blood products and/or where work location requires. Ability to use a personal computer and applicable software for sustained periods of time.
