Job Description

Manages the staff and activities in support of the HR Solutions, Change Readiness department.  Participates in the development and growth of a dedicated change management function within Human Resources (HR). Creates and implements change management strategies and plans that will maximize employee adoption and minimize resistance.

  1. Manages the staff and activities of the Change Readiness department.  Selects, develops, manages and evaluates direct reports.  Ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely fashion.
  2. Serves as a center of expertise for the design and maintenance of tools, systems, dashboards and over-all solutions to address Northwell’s strategic imperative of enabling change management.
  3. Builds, deploys, and refines change management tools and processes on large-scale change initiatives, including but not limited to stakeholder analysis and change impact analysis. 
  4. Establishes and leverages change ambassador networks to drive the adoption of new systems, processes, and procedures and gather feedback throughout the lifecycle of change initiatives.
  5. Builds relationships within and outside of HR to position the change management function to provide maximum value and to drive consistency in how change management is delivered across the organization.
  6. Measures impact and demonstrates value by building a change management metrics model and applying the model on each project supported by the function.
  7. Collaborates with internal communications, the Center for Learning & Innovation (CLI), and other teams to build holistic solutions on large-scale projects.
  8. Trains and educates corporate, regional, and site HR team members on change management strategies and best practices.
  9. Serves as a change management mentor to team members in Organizational Development and others within Northwell Health.
  10. Performs related duties, as required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or equivalent. Master’s Degree, preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years change management experience, including management experience, required.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, leading, and implementing change management strategies and plans.
  • Ability to work through a matrixed organization to get the work done in a highly decentralized environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, required.
