About the Job

We are seeking a Research Technologist or Senior Research Technologist in the laboratory of Dr. Jun Yang at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This person will be responsible for assisting the principal investigator and postdoctoral fellows with the data collection and analysis for research projects related to pharmacogenomics. He/she is expected to perform or participate in wet-lab experiments using a variety of model systems, and also to directly work with patient materials for translational research projects (e.g., sample collection and processing in the context of clinical trials). Other duties include maintaining efficient laboratory operations and training other laboratory personnel and activities directed by supervisor in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department.

 

Previous background in molecular biology (e.g. cloning, RNA and protein analyses) and cell biology (e.g. cell culture, shRNA transfection, drug sensitivity testing) is highly preferred. Efficient and effective communication and strong organizational skills are essential for this position.

 

Research at Dr. Yang's laboratory is highly translational, offering outstanding opportunities to learn a wide array of techniques across diverse disciplines (from basic cancer biology, drug development and evaluation, to preclinical and early clinical studies of novel therapy).

Senior Research Technologist

  • A minimum of three (3) years total work experience as a SJCRH Research Technologist or three (3) years relevant post-degree experience in a similar research environment is required with a Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of two (2) years total work experience as a SJCRH Research Technologist or two (2) years relevant post-degree experience in a similar research environment is required with a Master's degree.
  • No experience is required with a PhD in a related field.
