About the Job
Team members are responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience by consistently providing friendly, responsive service, great tasting/quality food, and a clean restaurant environment for all guests. Team members will work at one or more workstations in accordance with Jack in the Box procedures, systems, and standards. You are responsible for taking customer’s orders, assembling the orders, and acting as cashiers. Activities & Responsibilities o Demonstrate a strong awareness and concern for food quality and safety o Ensure all restaurant policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and guidelines are followed o Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards o Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service, and respond promptly and courteously to correct any problems o Collect payments from guests o Take food and beverage orders from guests o Serve food and beverages to guests o Expect to be versatile and work in a variety of positions such as; drive-thru attendant, cashier, fry cook, griller, janitorial services, etc. o Answer guest questions about menu items, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services o Clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining o Clearly communicate and repeat back food orders to guests in the drive-thru o Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, taking out trash, and check and cleaning the bathroom o Replenishing supplies and condiments o Notifying kitchen staff of any food orders or food shortages o Thank guests for the visit and invite them to return o Attend all employee meetings Tools & Technology o Cash registers o Credit card processing machines o Headsets for drive-thru communication o Point-of-sale terminals and receipt printers Minimum Qualifications o Be 18 years of age or older o Ability to speak, read, and write effectively in English o Excellent interpersonal skills o Ability to perform and understand basic math concepts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) o Ability to work well with diverse groups of people o Proven analytical skills o Good organization and planning skills o Self-starter who takes initiative and willingly accepts responsibility o Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior o Able to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system o Able to stand and walk approximately 90%-95% of shift and move freely throughout the restaurant o Able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds o Jack in the Box is a 24/7 restaurant, so team leaders must be willing to work a flexible schedule. o Ability to listen to guests’ orders and read video monitorsEQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: Jack in the Box Inc. and its affiliates are equal opportunity employers and do not discriminate in hiring or employment based on race, religion (including religious dress and grooming practices), color, creed, national origin, ancestry, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding or related medical conditions), gender or gender identity or expression, transgender status, sexual orientation, marital status, military and veteran status, age (over 40), physical or mental disability, genetic information, medical condition, or any other consideration made unlawful by federal, state or local laws.
