Technology provides corporate computing, network infrastructure support and technology to clients, advisors and employees. The Ameriprise Financial Technology Intern Program offers the opportunity to contribute to the success of the company by delivering technology solutions that support the evolving needs of our clients, advisors, and employees. During the program participating individuals will gain exposure to a broad range of Technology initiatives, along with the chance to gain direct experience in the field of technology.
Complete an internship in the selected business unit. Assignments will be based on business need and participant interest. Program participants are encouraged to gain a broad technology background that will prepare them for a variety of future opportunities. Incumbent will gain direct professional experience and a broad understanding of the Technology organization by performing a variety of tasks and projects in various groups: Technology Infrastructure and Operations, Application and Web Development, Information Security, Client Technology Experience, Technology Architecture, Business Analytics, Technology Operations. Specific duties vary according to position assumed, assigned projects, and supervisor discretion.
Responsibilities may include defining business requirements, developing user acceptance test plans, developing SOW and cost benefit analysis, developing documents, test and modify new existing code, developing working knowledge of systems and processes.
-0-1 years of relevant experience required.
-Junior year in college with a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Science, MIS major, or related field.
-GPA of 3.0 or above.
-First level knowledge and/or demonstrated technical ability to understand code and technology infrastructure in multiple environments.
-Effective oral and written communication skills along with logical, analytical and abstract thinking skills.
-Strong attention to detail, follow-through and time management skills.
-Demonstrated aptitude to quickly learn and apply new tools and processes.
-Interested in gaining broad experience in Technology.
-Previous work experience in Technology preferred.
-Coding experience in Java or SSRS, SQL, R, SSAS knowledge.
-High level of self-motivation with strong integrity and ethics.
-Ability to influence and strong relationship management skills.
